Day 2 Photo Challenge:My Best Friends

Today I am supposed to post a picture of my best friend. But the problem is....I have more than one. Well actually today I am supposed to post a picture of me and the person I have been close with the longest. But how do you determine the "longest" part. By distance of time? What about time spent together? What about by how they impacted your life? Does a parent count or can it only be no-biological people? What if there are 2 people? What if there are 3?

Upper L: Dawn & I, Upper R:Brittney & I, Lower L:Ashley & I
Here they are. The 3 people who I have been close with the longest. The 3 people not related to me that I love more than anyone. The 3 people who have changed my life in more ways than they ever will know.

Brittney I met when I was 12. She watched go from pre-teen bopper to metal-head. She cut my hair(and was the only person I could trust to do so), so was the first one I dyed my hair with. She pierced my belly button when I was 13. She and I wanted to be in a all-girls metal band when we was 13. She is the reason why I love Slipknot and Kittie. She is the Godmother to one of our daughters. I named our youngest twin daughter after her.

Ashley I met when I was 15. She took me from hard-rock girl to preppy chick meanwhile keeping the same girl everyone knew and loved. We went to the state fair together....and stayed till it was midnight. She is my Tiger and I her T.j. (little nicknames we gave each other). We have tons of inside jokes( speed bump....and *lifts up arms* lets go flying) and we can just laugh till we cry when we are in the same room together. She is the other Godmother to one of our daughters. I named our oldest twin daughter after her.

Dawn I met when I was 22. She came at a time when I least expected her. She has made me so happy. She has opened my eyes and my heart. She has taken care of our girls so well. She loves us all. She is the one that has brought the most love into my life. She is not only my spouse....my partner but she is also best friend. She was with my when I got my proudest tattoo. She has grown to understand sarcasm(and use it sometimes better than me). She has introduced me to sushi and a good burrito(GOOOOO CHIPOTLE!!). She took me to my first Pride Festival. We have wonderful memories together....from the Georgia Aquarium to the zoo to just our local Walmart. She makes every day an adventure.

Well there you have it. My 3 best friends. And without just 1 of them I wouldn't be who I am today.

Day 1 Photo Challenge: Me with 15 facts

So back in December we bought this really cool camera at Target that I just LOVE and since then I have been wanting to get into taking pictures. 2. Although I am allergic, my favorite flower is roses.
  3. In addition to roses I am also allergic to dove soap, Amoxicillin, anything rose scented and certain types of grasses.
  4. I absolutely LOVE my eyes. I think they are my best feature.
  5. The one nickname that has stuck with me throughout my teen years into adulthood is Vibrator.
  6. Despite missing it, I will never move back to Indiana.
  7. Germany is my favorite country in the world....and if I had the opportunity I would move in a heartbeat.
  8. It is easier for me to learn German than any other language.
  9. I am 1/8 Native American. I also have German and Polish in me.
  10. I've lived in 17 different places from the day I was born till I moved where I live now back in 6/10/2011.
  11. My middle name is Marie.
  12. I love coffee so much that I would never, ever give it up!

2011 Christmas Pictures

Okay so when we went to my IL's place in the Ga mountains over Thanksgiving they took us to jcpenney in Chattanooga to get Christmas pictures of the girls done(originally wanted me and Dawn in it too but I didn't want to do pictures). It was....stressful.
For #1 it was done on Black Friday. Which everyone can agree...worst time to go ANYWHERE(unless you actually like the insane shopping savings). And it was also at a mall. So yeah NOT really TONS of fun for me. For #2 the girls woke up that morning at 2 am. So they were cranky by our appointment.
But at least the pictures turned out GREAT!!

Bubbles.....

So this week isn't going as well as I planned. Not a lot of crafts out there to do involving the baby Jesus that don't require self-hardening clay or popsicle sticks or a pre-made nativity scene. It is quite frustrating!! And it is also hard to teach something that quite frankly I find impossible(I want go into SPECIFICS but you know what I mean). So I talked to my dear Dawn and she agreed it was okay to go on into SECULAR CHRISTMAS!!
So I am definitely excited about THAT!!

I am still very much looking forward to celebrating Hanukkah with the girls. We FINALLY bought our Menorah and candles(they are blue) and I can't wait to do it. I've read up a lot about Judaism and am really prepared to teach them about that.

So onto the MAIN reason for this post. November 27th, 2011 we adopted a beautiful:

This is Bubbles the Elf
Now I know, she looks creepy(actually I thought she looked adorable!!) but the girls love her. She came with:
In a special box(which we will store her in when she lives).
Off of the  Elf on the Shelf website:

Have you ever wondered how Santa knows who is naughty and who is nice? The Elf on the Shelf – A Christmas Tradition is the very special tool that helps Santa know who to put on the Naughty and Nice list. This interactive holiday hide-and-seek tradition is perfect for children and families of all ages.
The tradition begins when Santa sends his scout elves out to Elf Adoption Centers. Waiting for their families to bring them home, these patient elves hibernate until their family reads The Elf on the Shelf, gives their elf a very special name, and registers their adoption online. Once named, each scout elf will receive its Christmas magic and become a part of the family’s Christmas each and every year.
Excellent listeners and even better observers, these scout elves are the eyes and ears of Santa Claus. Although they cannot be touched, or else they may lose their magic, the elf will always listen and relay messages back to Santa. Taking in all the day-to-day activities around the house, no good deed goes unnoticed; these scout elves take their job seriously.
Each night, after the family goes to bed, the scout elf uses his magical Christmas powers to fly back to the North Pole. Once there, the elf will make his or her daily report to Santa and visit with elf friends where they will tell stories about their beloved families, play with the reindeer, and of course, sneak some of Mrs. Claus’ cookies!
Before the family awakes each morning, their special scout elf will fly back to their home from the North Pole. However, since these elves like to play games, don’t expect to find them in the same spot!  While some like to hide in the freezer (probably because it reminds them of the North Pole) and others prefer to sit on the fireplace mantle or hang from the chandelier, these elves love to play hide-and-seek with their families.
On Christmas Eve, the scout elf will listen for Santa’s bell and then fly back to the North Pole until the next season, wishing every girl and each boy a Christmas of peace and a year full of joy.

So for the first week or so she just hid. On the fridge, the fan, the Christmas tree...Then we started noticing that Bubbles was just getting into trouble:
On 12/07/11
She got out Santa's cookie plate and some cookies in Mommy and Momma's room. I wasn't happy about that. She also dyed the milk red(actually it looks pink).

On 12/08/11
Then this morning we woke up to Bubbles playing board games with the Clifford twins and Zebra Claus. Now I don't mind her playing games but guess who had to clean it up. Yup....ME!!

The girls are going to tell Santa this weekend(at Bass Pro Shops) that Bubbles is NOT being good. Either that or they will write him a letter.

This is our 1st year with a Scout Elf from Santa. And I just adore her!! The "tricks" are going to be soooo fun. I don't know if I will post this EVERY day but I will try to do it every other day.
Now the girls are not allowed to touch her but the grown ups are(because she seems to fall down a lot) and because I don't want to cats to think they can eat her or play with her.

Well TTFN. It is school time(and breakfast time) so I better go. BYE!!

December 1, 2011

Happy December!!

This month is going to be an exciting one!!

Since I was not raised in religious surroundings and my dear partner was I plan on teaching the girls a LOT about this month.

First week, 5th-9th will be all about the Christian celebration of Christmas. I will be teaching the girls about the Birth of Christ. We will do nativity scenes, read stories, color pictures and maybe write a nice letter to Jesus. On Christmas Day we plan on visiting my IL's so I plan on backing a birthday cake for Jesus to take over there.
The second week, 12th-16th we will learn about secular Christmas. We will make Santa, reindeer and snowmen craft. We will read Christmas stories about Santa and decorate our house. We will bake chocolate chip cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve and leave out some milk for him and carrots for the reindeer.

The third week won't start until the 20th, where we will celebrate Hanukkah til sundown on the 28th. During that week we will light a Menorah every night, although on Friday we will only light it for the traditional 30mins, instead of the 1 1/2 hours that is normally done for the Sabbath. We will play dreidel games, the girls will receive candy coins on that day and we will read about Judaism and the meaning behind Hanukkah. Last night we bought a paint your own dreidel kit that came with 3 dreidels, 3 sets of paints and 3 paintbrushes for 5 dollars are Target.

Time Fliesssss

Well this weekend we are going camping AGAIN!! Lol!! As if LAST time wasn't horrible enough for us.
My IL gave us their last camping spot for the "season".  :) I am excited!! We changed our location(last one was RIGHT on the water) to a more tree-guarded area. Hopefully all the leaves don't fall off before we get there. 2 weeks ago we went to the campground to look around at the ones we thought we might want. The only one we REALLY liked has trees surrounding it. It was soooo pretty when we went to see it. Orange, red, yellow and green all around. Not windy at all so we MIGHT be able to have a fire. We are inviting my parents to the site on Friday for dinner. Hopefully it isn't too windy for my mom(she is skinny.....lol...nuff said).

Next weekend me and my lovely partner are going to......THE MOVIES!!! WooHoo!!
We plan on seeing Breaking Dawn Part 1. Yup the day AFTER it comes out in theaters. I am excited about it. I have been into Twilight before I met Dawn. And no I am not one of the CrAzY fans. Didn't understand what it was about til I saw the 1st movie. Was seriously out of the loop. When the 1st movie came out a friend, ATT, took me to it(along with her boyfriend). It was good and I was hooked. That was the ONLY time I ever saw one of the Twilight movies in theater.....until next weekend. I am fortunate to have great parents(we both are) to watch the girls so we can have a date night. Those happen about once in a BLUE MOON(actually it has been shorter than 19years...LOL!!). Shockingly though this is our 3rd movie we have seen THIS year in theaters. The first one was The Green Hornet then we saw Transformers: Dark of the Moon and now Breaking Dawn. This is a record not only for us but for me. We plan on indulging ourselves with a GIANT popcorn bucket and a GIANT drink(as big as we can) because this is PROBABLY going to be our last one until Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes out.

October 22, 2011

2 + 4= 6

Well....back in July we got Mr. Sir...a 2-3 yr old guinea pig. But he seemed lonely. So 2 weeks later we got Landon. When we got Landon he was only about 9 weeks old.

Fast forward to September/October. Landon has gotten bigger. But not as long as he is fat.
I picked him up....and felt movement in his tummy. Checked his.....privates....
Yup HE is actually a SHE and SHE is pregnant.

Now on October 22, 2011 our London(we changed her name) gave birth  to 4 babies!!!

We don't know sexes yet. Soon I want to put them in their pin we bought the guinea pigs back in July(but the babies need to get bigger first). They make such CUTE guinea pig squeaks. I knew she was going to deliver today...at least I was hoping. I am so glad she did it while we were home.
We separated London from Mr. Sir....we have a C&C cage that is 2 levels...Mr. Sir is now on top and London & babies are on bottom.

October 6, 2011

First there were 3, then....YOU came along!!

So I wasn't sure when I was going to do this but it is inevitable...like DEATH and TAXES. Which is oddly similar... ;)

We aren't the typical lesbian household. We didn't get together(spend years just the 2 of us), get an education, save up money, spend THOUSANDS $$$ TTC and then get "blessed" with these twins. Nope....but no hurt feelings here. I am happy with the result of my family and my darling partner doesn't seem to mind either.

I was 18 years old when I got knocked up. I was in a......ewww HETERO relationship. That shit turned for the worse!! BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
Found out I was preggo July 24th, 2006....gave birth... February 24th, 2007. In the meantime in Ohio..... Dear partner was enjoy her senior year in high school.

We met randomly. She messaged me on FB...and we started talking. 2 days later we met in person and have been inseparable ever since. Our technical date of relationship "starting" was March 20th, 2010. One month and one day after we met. We went out to dinner that night...Outback...bought a bloomin' onion and the bloomin' burger and shared a cheesecake piece. I took her outside, we sat the bench talking and I asked her to be my girlfriend. I hate saying that now. GIRLFRIEND!!! ::shivers:: Sounds like we were dating. I hate thinking about that.

The beginning is always so lovey dovey and intoxicating you wonder when it ends. When is the honeymoon over and you KNOW you still want to be together?!?! I used to get so drunk off of that phase but never made it passed it. Would there still be magic after the removal of the terrible rose-colored glasses??

For once in my life my feelings stayed! I drown in it even now... 1 1/2 years afterwards. I still feel the same way. I love her faults, I love her absentmindedness!! I love the way she can't find shit in BROAD daylight. And none of it makes me want to backhand her!!! Now the girlfriend thing is gone. I hate those words....I despise them!! She is my partner, my wife, my best friend. She is everything to me. And I love her so much.

I am glad we met like we did. Everything happened in both of our lives for a reason to bring us to where we are today. Because of the girls, I moved to Georgia. Because of moving to Ga I met Dawn. I never would of came down here. I never would of left Indiana....at least I don't think so. ::shrugs:: we'll never know.

All I know is I love my non-traditional family, OUR twin girls and I love this GAY life. I wouldn't change it for all the gold, promises and wishes in the world(but a permanent move to Germany would be nice).

Not all(OBVIOUSLY) lesbian relationships start off with kids already there. Some do. Some adopt before they met their partner, some start out like ours but some get lucky enough to start their family together. Not one situation is better than the other. When most lesbians are getting over the diaper phase we will be putting ours in college. We get to enjoy our retirement NOT parenting(though does it really ever stop?!?!) I am happy with our situation. I've accepted it happily.
